To feed the world, as we do now, food production must double by 2050. KeyGene delivers sustainable responses to the world’s need for yield stability and quality of crops. Below are examples of some of the projects we’ve delivered.
Shaping wheat for the future
It is predicted that the world population will grow to 9 billion people in 2040. In order to meet the demand for food it will be necessary to improve our crops. Higher yield by making the crop less susceptible for diseases and by using drought and salt tolerance crops, are examples which can contribute to increase the yield outcome. KeyGene has the knowledge, expertise and facilities to support companies with such research questions. Already for a long time we are partner for several companies. One of our partners is Bayer CropScience for which we performed research for the improvement of their wheat varieties.
