Genetic Map Construction

AFLP® fingerprints of segregating populations are generated, and the genetic location and distance between the markers is calculated and visualized.

Its Value
AFLP ® based genetic map construction:

  • provides detailed knowledge regarding the genetic location of the trait;
  • is an effective tool to increase the quality of backcross conversions;
  • can be used to validate phenotypic information;
  • is a useful tool for development of markers for QTL-regions and / or removal of linkage drag;
  • is a cost effective way for developing linked markers for more than 5 traits;
  • is useful for the development of QTL marker assays.
