How DNA sequencing technologies revolutionize crop innovation

KeyGene was founded in 1989 by a consortium of seed breeding companies. KeyGene’s assignment was to develop and apply technologies that could support their breeding programs. Breeders were anxiously looking for ways to apply DNA technologies that could facilitate, accelerate and improve their breeding.

It started with a successful DNA fingerprinting technology, where tens of DNA markers could be analysed at the same time. Today, with the help of the most advanced DNA sequencing platforms it is possible to unravel complete genome sequences, consisting of billions of letters.

We were, and remain, pioneers in this rapidly changing field. We continue to developing technologies to support our customers and partners with their breeding challenges. To achieve this we must continually operate at the forefront.
