AI assisted efficient plant selection
Plant selection based on genotypical and/or phenotypical data sets and deep learning.
KeyGene reference: P218
Invention
The invention facilitates plant selection based on genotypical and/or phenotypical data sets combined with breeder’s skill, using Artificial Intelligence through deep learning technique.
Benefits
This invention revolutionizes plant selection by integrating breeder observation data into the AI training process. Unlike traditional methods that solely rely on plant information (genotype, phenotype etc.), this system analyzes which parts of a plant breeders focus on during selection, alongside the genotypic, phenotypic & other data. This allows the AI model to learn breeder preferences and predict future choices with higher accuracy. This can significantly enhance breeding programs, accelerate research by focusing on breeder interests, personalize plant selection for individual breeders, and optimize resource consumption .
Vision
Breeding new plant varieties is a cumbersome and time-consuming process that is highly dependent on the selection of the right breeding parents. The present technology makes sure all information available is used in the most effective way to aid decision making.
