In this position you will execute and support legal affairs aimed at safeguarding KeyGene’s business and legal interests in line with KeyGene’s strategy.
This role offers the unique opportunity to support and contribute to KeyGene’s global innovation and business ambitions. You will work and grow in close collaboration with the in-house legal counsel and the other team members as well as co-workers in other departments, like Business Development. This professional and enthusiastic team is led by the Head of IP & legal affairs. The team consists of a corporate legal counsel, a patent attorney trainee, an information specialist and a secretary.
As Paralegal you will assist in drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating various types of contracts including secrecy agreements, terms of conditions and standard contracts including R&D, service, IP and HR contracts. You will keep oversight of the contract process you ensure a lay-out, technical and grammatical correctness of written legal communication in line with the defined and approved KeyGene requirements. You will advise and assist with additional legal and compliance projects and duties, as necessary. Also, you will recommend improvements and innovations to contracts. Keeping the IP and Legal Affairs’ databases up to date and safeguarding an adequate filing and administration is crucial to work and collaborate effectively.

You get energy from changes and improvements and you know how to communicate well with other departments and (in- and external) stakeholders, both in the Netherlands as well as abroad.
In addition, you:
- have a bachelor or master’s Dutch law degree and preferably a few years of relevant work experience in an international environment.
- excellent analytical skills and have good communication skills.
- are fluent in English and Dutch, written as well as spoken.
- are customer and quality oriented.
- feel at ease in a rapidly changing environment.
- are both a team player and someone who can work alone very well.
- possess organizational skills, which are essential to effectively manage key dates and meet deadlines.
- have a flexible and pro-active approach.
- are able to work on own initiative but under supervision.
