Data & AI Innovation Lead

Our Crop Data Science department is the company’s central hub for advanced data analytics. With our strong interdisciplinary and enthusiastic teams, we design, build and apply highly innovative methods using systems biology and artificial intelligence (AI), to tackle diverse data challenges in genomics, trait research, digital phenotyping, and breeding.

We are currently hiring a Data & AI Innovation Lead. As our new team leader, you will initiate and lead strategic innovation and R&D programs in the field of software development, data science and cloud computing.

Role

As Data & AI Innovation Lead you will be responsible for:

• Create a strategic roadmap and oversee a portfolio of several high profile projects to develop novel frameworks, application and IP in cloud computing and data science.
• Acquisition, leading and managing the budget of cutting-edge R&D projects, aimed at pushing the boundaries of innovation in the Agritech sector.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all R&D teams and international partners.
• Manage and upskill the software development research team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation and excellence.
• Contribute as an active member of the management team, demonstrating business acumen by envisioning future of the sector

You will report to the Vice-President Crop Data Science and will be part of the management team of the Crop Data Science department.

Your profile

• A visionary leader who excels in open communication to drive ground breaking innovation.
• Extensive experience in developing R&D software solutions, with a keen interest in cloud-based architectures.
• Degree in computer science, IT, data science, or a related field.
• Proven track record of leadership, innovation and project management.
• Fluency in English and an ability to articulate complex concepts across varied levels of expertise.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, GCP, and Azure is considered advantageous.
